Alte Hasen

I wanted to relax and and draw a picture of my friends at Etulinja, who, in fact, I have used as models in my comic. I ended up spending more than a week doing this. Even though I have simplified the picture a lot by posing the men easily and letting out some equipment (like ammo boxes, ammo belts and suspenders), it was a lot of work.

All is 100% up to scale, of course! There is that and some other minor and not quite so minor details to make it clear that these guys have been on the front for some time and are not exactly your ready-for-parade-inspection kind of soldiers. Their faces and poses are also meant to convey their personalities and make some pun on them friends of mine.
